Martingale Slots Betting System

For better or worse, online slots are games of chance. You can press the spin button at any time and win a lot of money. You have just as good of a chance to win if you are a novice as if you have been playing for years. Some people don’t like the fact that random chance determines everything, though, so they look for ways to influence the game. The most common technique is by employing a progressive betting system, the most popular of which is the Martingale.

The Martingale system is a popular betting system used for games of chance, such as online slots, roulette and craps. Each betting system, including the Martingale, is based in part on the gambler’s fallacy, which is the belief that an event that hasn’t happened recently becomes more likely to occur. People say that it is “due” to happen.

With games of chance, that is not the case. The odds are the same on slots on every spin and the RNG ensures that each spin is completely independent of the last. In the Martingale system, you double your bet after each loss. The thinking is that if you double each time you lose, when you eventually win, you will earn all of that lost money back. There is one huge problem with the strategy and that is it doesn’t take into account long losing streaks, which any slot player knows can happen at any time.

If you have a limited bankroll, a long losing streak using the Martingale system will quickly cause you to run out of money. You will double, double, double and eventually run out of money in your account. Even if you have an extremely large bankroll, the slot’s betting limits will thwart you. After a few losses, you will not be able to double your bet because that would be higher than the maximum allowed bet. For that reason, the Martingale system simply does not work on online slots.
